Hernan is an artist, tri-athlete and professional and award-winning photographer. He considers himself an image-maker where art meets photography. His passion is people.

Hernan believes that at times stimulated through his senses and created in his mind, it is a special God given gift of expression to be able to captivate the essence of a soul for just one moment in time. This has opened the opportunity for 15 Awards of Excellence granted through the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International for Hernan.

With a degree in Advertising & Design, and an extensive background in illustration, Hernan has worked on designs for Guess Jeans and the Olympic Committee. With the strengths and collaboration of his studio team, they are accredited for all the photography and corporate branding of numerous franchises and institutes. Hernan has worked with non-profit organizations such as “The Circle of Care” in Sherman Oaks, and was one of the 40 selected contributing artists. He has been featured in numerous articles and coffee books. His mission: “To extend my gift, to as many people possible.”

A story through images: Understanding the basics of photographic lighting isn’t extremely difficult, and it doesn't take long to learn. However, like martial arts, mastering those elements can take a lifetime - especially if you decide to discover all the answers on your own. Hernan’s talent for creating extraordinary images has made him the choice for many well-known subjects. With a background in illustration and degree in advertising, Hernan will show first-hand how he uses these elements along with proper lighting and posing to create images that tell a story and express emotion. He will discuss how he develops a relationship with his clients to transform their perception of themselves into reality.

Westcott Expert: Lighting Demonstrations

Great portraits begin with great lighting. Using real-world demonstrations, you’ll learn ways to ensure quality lighting for indoor and outdoor portraits. This session will cover popular lighting styles, correct light positioning, proper exposures and everything in between. Whether you’re working with studio strobes, constant lights or speedlites, you will learn techniques that will instantly improve your lighting skills both in the studio and on-location.
